Martin has over 25 years of experience in the air and water hygiene industry. He started his career at Swiftclean as a Compliance Operative in 1999 and has advanced through various roles, gaining essential skills along the way. Martin was among the first to pass the Green Book training, an early version of the BESA Grease Hygiene course. As Commercial Director, he is dedicated to educating the industry about the risks associated with neglecting ventilation and water system cleanliness. He hosts events for organisations such as the London Fire Brigade and AXA Insurance and provides compliance awareness training sessions across the UK for diverse clients and industry bodies.
Abbey has 12 years of experience in the industry, starting as a service coordinator before being promoted to Head of Operations and now leads the Shared Services team. She is also a member and vice president of the East Anglia Regional BESA Committee, as well as being on the BESA Council, and has been teaching this course for approximately a year. Abbey is a qualified manager with a CMI Level 5 diploma in Operational Management, her teaching background includes being a qualified riding instructor and tutoring English Literature and Language up to GCSE level, as well as training our internal team in the Service Delivery Department in previous roles at Swiftclean.
Richard has 10 years of experience in the industry, starting as a grease hygiene operative, before moving onto the technician level and working within service delivery alongside the role of Training Manager. He also has extensive experience working on the Legionella side of the business as a Risk Assessor. His current role as Training and Compliance Developer encompasses auditing, training, development, and delivery of services within the office environment as well as on site with clients. Teaching has been a theme throughout his life and career; from tennis coaching during his college years to working alongside the School Nursing Service within the NHS.
