Meet the Team – The Finance Department
Swiftclean’s finance team consists of three experienced professionals – Jane Hares, Finance Manager, Debbie Green, responsible for the Sales Ledger and Claire Cotterill, responsible for the Purchase Ledger.
A well-established team, theirs was the only one where each person won an award at the recent annual Summer BBQ and Awards celebration – a fantastic achievement!
Best Support Role – Jane Hares
Directors’ Award – Debbie Green
Best Customer Service – Claire Cotterill
We spoke to them all recently and asked them a few questions about their success and also some rather random questions!
Why do you think your team is so successful?
The team was unanimous in saying that as they have worked together for a number of years, they each know their own jobs well and are always willing to help each other out when needed.
What’s the best thing you did recently?
Debbie – I had a lovely, relaxing weekend in Whitstable with my sister and friends.
Claire – I went to my daughter’s Graduation for her Masters Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Hartpury University.
Jane – I enjoyed going to a comedy club.
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Debbie – I have always wanted to write a book and have it published, maybe one day I will!
Jane – It’s a bit boring but I’ve recently bought a sewing machine so now I want to learn how to use it!
What was your first job?
Debbie – I trained as a hairstylist when I left school.
Claire – I worked for Lloyds Bank at West Smithfield as a secretary.
Jane – I was an admin clerk at a car dealership.
What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it?
Claire – I don’t have that much spare time at the moment so haven’t read a book or watched a movie in a long time!
Jane – Oppenheimer, scary to think what could have happened but needs to be seen.
What fictional place would you like to visit?
Debbie – I don’t think “Little House on Prairie” is totally fictional but I would have liked to have visited there for a while.
What’s something you’re planning on doing in the next year that you’ve never done?
Debbie – Next year I am hoping to do the 3 peaks challenge.
Claire – See my daughter get married.
Jane – Visit the fjords in Norway.
What’s something that recently made you smile?
Debbie – My dog when she greets me ☺
Claire – Seeing my horses go out into their field after being in for days on end due to the persistent rain!
Jane – Family always put a smile on my face
What is your 15 minutes of fame?
Debbie – Not so much 15 minutes of fame but I won a competition on my horse a few years back and had a photo of myself and my horse in a magazine.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
Debbie – “Do what you want not what others want you to do” – I didn’t do this when I was younger but as I have got older I have learnt to do this!
Claire – Treat things as an opportunity, not an expectation
Jane – Never go to bed on an argument
What’s your dream job?
Debbie – I don’t know how I came to work in an office environment as my friends say I should have been a farmer! I like to be outdoors and love animals, so working, and helping animals would be my dream job, alternatively a Physio for the England Rugby team!
