Swiftclean Annual Awards Ceremony 2024
At this year’s company celebration, amongst the fun and games, we held our annual awards ceremony.
Nominated by their peers, individuals were recognised for their commitment to Swiftclean across seven categories.
Thank you to all who took the time to nominate your colleagues.
All nominations were collated, and a panel of judges considered every nomination against the criteria of each category. The nominations were carefully considered, not on the quantity but the quality of the nomination.

And here are our winners!
Lauren Whittington – Management and Leadership
Description of category –
- An excellent role model.
- Inspire others to work collaboratively and creatively.
- Demonstrates initiative.
- Promotes a work environment that is respectful and supportive.
Feedback –
This person leads their team with a great attitude, there is mutual respect within this manager’s team, which is shown through the team’s work ethic.
Demonstrating the initiative to lead, having the difficult conversations and making the right decisions even though they are the hardest to navigate.
Lauren said, “I feel really grateful to have received this award from my Swiftclean team. I take pride in my role, and lead my team by example. I enjoy people management and getting the best out of people and contributing to a positive work environment”.
Rhys Farenden-Neill – Support Staff
Description of category –
- Takes pride in both their role responsibilities and their department/work unit and exhibits good organisational skills. Is motivated and strives for excellence and accepts responsibility for their actions.
- Contributes to a positive culture within the department/work unit and offer exceptional service to clients whilst being knowledgeable about their role and the services the company provides.
- Willing to go above and beyond to assist clients (both internal and external), to minimise delays and assures timely follow up – enhancing the operating efficiency of the department/work unit.
Feedback –
This person has been called a lifesaver! Knowledgeable and honest when asking a lot of questions. Has helped others understand more technical queries and supports other departments. This person has taken on a role and has made it their own and is a deserving winner of this category.
On his win, Rhys said: “I was just so shocked! I didn’t even expect to be nominated, so to win was a lovely surprise”
Billie Sibbons – Customer Service
Description of category –
- Demonstrates outstanding customer service and personalised interactions.
- Exhibits knowledge and competency, providing clear and transparent communication to all audiences.
- Proactive with customers’ needs and wants.
- Contributes to improvements in the quality of service to clients through timely responsiveness and resourcefulness.
Feedback –
The person chosen for this award provides excellent customer service skills going above and beyond with the clients using her friendly and polite nature. Stepping in when needed to help the team with different situations and supporting where needed with clients.
Billie said: “Winning the award has given me such a confidence boost!”
Richard Piggott – Team Player
Description of category –
- Who helps others, stays humble, and continues to improve.
- Who truly cares about their team and deserves to be recognised for their dedication.
- Communicates with confidence, communicates ideas honestly and clearly and respects the views and opinions of others on the team
Feedback –
This person is motivated and always available to help. He shows patience and is willing to help whenever it is needed. He goes above and beyond to support the business and others. He demonstrates the right behaviours but will challenge positively.
Richard said: “I was very happy to receive this award, it shows with hard work and great guidance the best can be brought out of an individual to benefit the team as a whole”
Jamie Barr – Best Newcomer
Description of category –
- Start date from 01/06/2022
- Being an effective colleague – being part of the team and proactively supporting the work of others.
- Putting previously learnt skills into practice, demonstrating effective knowledge, of the job at hand.
- Demonstrating a positive impact on service user experience, for their team, manager, or employer.
Feedback –
A reliable, conscientious person who is always available to help. He works hard and wants to improve his skill set in our industry. He has made a great impression since joining Swiftclean but sadly couldn’t be here today.
Jamie said: “I found out I’d won when Victoria from HR called me to let me know. It was a nice surprise to hear that my colleagues had voted for me – it is good to know the work we do is recognised”.
John Eeles – Field Staff Award
Description of category –
- Excellence in performance, including peer-to-peer communication and association.
- Personal and/or team accomplishments as well as specific project achievements.
- Attendance, punctuality, results achieved.
Feedback –
This person’s dedication to Swiftclean is second to none, he works in difficult circumstances to provide a great level of service to our customers.
John said: “It was nice to be recognised for the work that I do – thanks to all my colleagues who voted for me”.
Matt Saunders – Director’s Award
Description of category –
The Directors looked at criteria such as length of service, outstanding performance, effective communication with peers, leadership skills, personal and team accomplishments, attendance, punctuality, and achieved results.
Feedback –
Matt has been with us for 11 years and has always hit his targets (he smashed last year’s by double and has already got 190% of his target for this year in July).
He communicates well with his peers and clients and leads his team with passion and determination – his team is also above target.
Matt hasn’t taken a day off sick in the last 18 months and always attends meetings on time and prepared – it’s been a pleasure to watch his career blossom.
He passes on his knowledge to clients and his colleagues.
We believe Matthew is helping (along with other members of our team) to grow Swiftclean, not only in turnover but with the next generation of managers looking to steer the company into a successful future.
Matt said: “It was an honor to receive the Directors award, so thank you to Martin and Gary for considering me in the first instance. I work with a great team who make it a pleasure to come to work and all contribute to the continued success at Swiftclean”
