The lime scale and rust that has built up inside the pipes, thereby narrowing its cross-section, is gradually dissolved, eventually leaving a protective film on the pipe surface to prevent corrosion pitting. The reddish discolouration of the water when a tap in freely flowing pipes is opened soon disappears.

Optimal treatment results also for hot water. According to the findings of scientists commissioned by perma-trade, the effect of physical water treatment is nowhere near as persistent in hot water as in cold water. In fact the effect disappears rapidly, particularly also as a result of undirected magnetic fields (e.g. of the circulating pump) and temperature fluctuations. To optimise the effect also in circulated hot water, it is necessary to install an additional small unit on the delivery side of the hot-water circulating pump.
