| Swiftclean News Item New British Standard for cleanliness of ventilation systems.
The new British Standard for cleanliness of ventilation systems (BS EN15780 2011) was published in November 2011. It includes measurement protocols and standards for 'cleanliness' and 'dirtiness' of air duct surfaces, as well as post-clean verification levels.
Swiftclean's Group Managing Director is on the steering group that is leading the revision to the existing TR/19 standards to incorporate the new standards.
BS EN15780 2011 introduces 3 different cleanliness classes, ranging from Low (storage and technical rooms), through Medium (ordinary offices, shops etc), up to High (high quality offices, hospital ward areas etc). Specifiers and contractors will welcome the inclusion of defined standards for the cleanliness of new duct installations in the section 'Acceptable Dust Accumulation (new ductwork)'.
Swiftclean will be conducting various training sessions to ensure that all staff within the organisation are aware of the implications of this release. |
