Why Swiftclean Was a Safe Company in 2025 and Stronger in 2026
Why Swiftclean Was a Safe Company to Work for in 2025 – and How We’re Raising the Bar in 2026
At Swiftclean, safety is not a slogan; it is one of our core operating principles. Throughout 2025, this commitment translated into measurable results, reinforcing our position as a safe and responsible company to work for.
One of the most significant indicators of our performance was the absence of any RIDDOR-reportable incidents during 2025. This outcome reflects not only strong safety controls, but also the professionalism and vigilance of our teams across all operations. It demonstrates that our systems, supervision, and culture are working as intended.
Independent Assurance Through ISO Certification
Further validation of our approach came through the successful completion of our ISO audit in November 2025. Passing this audit confirmed that Swiftclean’s health and safety management systems meet internationally recognised standards, providing independent assurance that our processes are robust, well-managed, and consistently applied.
Building a Proactive Near-Miss Reporting Culture
Equally important has been the increase in near-miss reporting. Rather than viewing near misses as failures, Swiftclean actively encourages their reporting as a critical tool for prevention. In 2025, employees reported near misses more frequently, enabling us to identify potential risks earlier, review processes, and implement corrective actions before incidents could occur. This proactive approach has directly contributed to safer working environments and continuous improvement.
Making Safety Reporting Simple and Accessible
Our health and safety lead Martin, adds, “We wanted to make the reporting of near misses easier for all of our site teams, so we launched a QR coded system that fits on the back of their identification card, and now if they see a near miss, they can quickly make a note of it and it automatically gets notified to our health and safety team”.
Raising Safety Standards Further in 2026
Looking ahead to 2026, Swiftclean is building on these strong foundations. A key focus is enhanced training, with the introduction of new courses in our own Swiftclean Academy, designed to address emerging risks, reinforce best practice, and support role-specific competencies. These courses will complement our existing training framework and ensure our workforce remains skilled, informed, and confident.
Investing in Training, Equipment and Safer Ways of Working
We are also further developing our already robust induction process. New starters will benefit from deeper, more structured safety onboarding, ensuring that expectations, procedures, and responsibilities are clearly understood from day one. This investment reflects our belief that safety excellence begins at induction and is sustained through ongoing learning and engagement.
As we move through 2026, Swiftclean remains committed to listening, learning, and improving. By combining a strong reporting culture, targeted training, and continual process development, we will continue to make Swiftclean an even safer place to work.
Our Commercial Director Martin adds, “As the responsible person for Health and Safety here at Swiftclean, myself and the team are always looking at our equipment and chemicals to see how we can not only find safer ways to carry out our compliance safety work, but have less of an impact on the environment and our proud safety record. In 2025, we invested in lighter brushing systems (which are not only easier to carry around site, they are also battery powered, so they create fewer trip hazards. We invested in more environmentally friendly cleaning chemicals, and continue to look at new technology that helps us keep our clients compliant, safer and with as little impact on the environment as possible.”
