The role of the Duct Cleaning Operative will involve ensuring that all environmental hygiene cleaning contracts assigned are completed on time, to the required standard and specification, and to the satisfaction of the customer.

The main areas of work being:

  • General Ventilation Cleaning
  • Water Tank Cleaning, Coating & Refurbishment
  • Kitchen Extract Fire Safety Cleaning

Ideally, we are looking for someone who has previous experience however, we would be happy to provide training for the right candidate. You will need to be able to be flexible with your working hours including day, evening and night work and able to work occasional weekends in line with work requirements. A full driving licence is also required.

The role of a Duct Cleaning Supervisor will involve

  • Being responsible for controlling the workload of the compliance team by co-ordinating the job onsite with written programmes and setting job priorities
  • Ensure that sufficient manpower is available to carry out the work required and ensuring that the team are informed of the duties required

An exciting opportunity has recently become available to join our growing business in the Water Hygiene department covering maternity leave for a fixed term period for 4 days a week.

Responsibilities

Support the Director of Operations, by leading the internal Legionella service teams in all aspects of delivery – identify, develop, and implement service procedures to gain the greatest efficiencies. Understand our compliance service requirements to ensure the scope of work and expectations are delivered in line with agreed contracts and maintaining customer relationships.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Technical understanding of ACOP L8 & HSG274
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Operational & Personnel Management – including PPM Contracts and KPI Management

General Management

Acting as lead manager to the Legionella service teams on a day-to-day basis, ensuring they are working in line with company processes, delivering a compliant service in key areas of their roles and reaching agreed KPIs.

  • Management of Legionella planning, ensuring all orders (including PPM) are converted and planned within agreed KPI’s
  • Management of Legionella admin teams who are responsible for the coordination of delivery
  • Overall management of key Legionella contracted accounts (supported by admin team) – ensuring these are onboarded and delivered to the agreed scope of works, improving customer relations, and supporting the growth of accounts.
  • Providing the team with technical guidance in line with L8 compliance requirements
  • Keep Sales Account Manager up to date with any issues which may affect customer relationship
  • Preparing, attend and run client review meetings
  • Management of teams workload to identify where support may be required or could be offered elsewhere in the department to ensure full productivity
  • Identify and implement any process changes required to maximise efficiencies and productivity within the team
  • Support the development of digital enhancements relevant to the areas of service delivery, and drive any changes associated to this, through to the teams to ensure processes are followed
  • Asset management – ensuring assets are being monitored and controlled within the digital compliance system
  • Involvement and support to drive the company strategic plans forward
  • Problem solving – to include customer complaints & delivery issues. Ensuring records are kept up to date with progress.
  • Management of positive microbiologically water sampling – ensuring clients are given sufficient guidance to resolution.
  • Post service compliance reporting – ensuring the team are completing and making available to clients within agreed SLAs or KPIs
  • Identifying additional resource needs - recruitment, skill sets or upskilling, to support productivity on the field
  • Identifying where subcontractors may be required to support demand of delivery or specialised services and supporting the on-boarding of these with the Technical Compliance Manager
  • Identifying any training needs within the team to improve performance and knowledge - arrange for training to be put in place to support this and upskilling, including any new starters
  • Responsible for undertaking performance reviews and other personnel management tasks (supported by HR) as deemed necessary (i.e., training, disciplinary’s etc.)
  • Cover others in the team, as and when required (annual leave, sickness, etc.).

Financial Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the worksheet order status and estimates are always up to date, in line with works programmed and delivered, so there is a clear understanding of current turnover position per month.
  • Ensuring subcontracted orders are delivered in a timely manner, in line with agreed KPIs
  • Invoicing to be processed and WIP to be kept to a minimum, as per KPIs
  • Signing off purchase orders and supplier invoice approval – awareness of budget allowance per job/project, to ensure gross profit is maintained

Installation and remedial works, to the public sector, utility companies, industrial, commercial, and retail clients. Swiftclean is established with rigorous growth plans; we are looking for talented employees who want to join our knowledgeable team.

Responsibilities

To ensure that all assigned Fire Safety and Ventilation Hygiene contracts are completed to the highest professional standards, meeting all statutory compliance and project specifications

The main areas of work are:

  1. Fire Damper Testing
  2. Fire Damper installation, repair and remedial works
  3. Ductwork Fitting and amendments
  4. Fire stopping
  5. Ventilation Cleaning & Ventilation Risk Assessments (further training and upskilling as necessary – require candidate to be open-minded to learning other services within the business)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in damper testing and remediation
  • City & Guilds accredited training – in relation to damper testing and remediation
  • Full, clean driving license
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in fire-stopping installation and repair (desirable)
  • CSCS (desirable)

Job Specific Functions

  • Controlling on-site workload and ensuring delivery within the agreed time scale and budgeted costs
  • Liaise with customers, or their designated representatives, and agree on the work and priority of works to be completed. To follow the schedule of the work program, if available.
  • Conducting maintenance damper function testing
  • Identifying remedial actions required to ensure clients remain compliant in line with industry standards and specifications
  • Working alongside technical sales consultants, providing detailed information on materials, equipment, logistics, etc. required to deliver remedial works, accurately and cost effectively – working to a first-time fix
  • Ability to execute damper repairs, replacements and installations
  • Modifications of ductwork for accessibility to dampers – i.e. fitting of removable sections
  • Installation of fire stopping (desirable, but ability to learn/upskill)
  • Supporting with Ventilation Cleaning projects (as and when required)
  • Conducting Ventilation Risk Assessments (ability to learn/upskill)
  • Ability to analyse and understand ventilation system design drawings, to support on-site delivery
  • Marking up ventilation system drawings, in line with company procedures and for accurate up-to-date client records

Your role as a Legionella Monitoring Technician will involve –

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks for the adequate control of Legionella bacteria;
  • Temperature monitoring of water services (plant and distribution)
  • Shower clean/descaling, water tank cleaning and disinfection
  • Water services plant inspection (i.e. cold water storage tanks, calorifiers etc.)
  • Thermostatic mixer valve (TMV) inspection and servicing
  • Basic water system remedials, removing dead legs and water tanks
  • Water sampling for microbiological analysis
  • Strong technical knowledge on hot and cold domestic water systems
  • Ability to look beyond the scope of works to identify potential non-conformances.
  • Carry out tasks in accordance with company method statements and procedures

  • Ensuring any progress issues or problems on site are communicated to the office immediately
