We managed to catch a few minutes with him to find out a few interesting facts about his likes and dislikes.

What’s the best thing you did recently?

A zip line in Tbilisi, Georgia, when I went to visit my sister. Amazing views!

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I’d love to learn how to fly a plane.

What was your first job?

When I was 16, I was an operative in a ball-bearing manufacturing company.

Do you have any pets? What are they?

No, although I’d like a dog.

What book or movie have you recently read/seen and why would you recommend it?

I really enjoyed the ‘Thursday Murder Club’ by Richard Osman. I’m a big fan of his dry wit and style of writing.

Do you have any hidden talents or unusual hobbies?

I like fishing – sea and river.

Are you a morning or night owl?

No preference – early mornings are nice but I’m also happy with evenings.

What person inspires you outside of work?

My big sister – she’s a great example of a strong, confident female.

What is your 15 minutes of fame?

The only thing I can think of is that I once literally bumped into Ray Winstone at Stansted Airport! He was trying to stay under the radar so looked terrified that I’d shout his name out but I just nodded at him which he seemed to appreciate.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?

Treat people as you’d like them to treat you.

What’s your favourite travel destination?

That’s a difficult question as I’ve travelled a fair bit. I’d narrow it down to 3 – Thailand, Bali and Melbourne.

What has surprised you about the job in the first few days?

Everyone I’ve met has been helpful and friendly, including the directors. They’ve gone out of their way to put me at my ease. Very genuine.
